This Kahala home, built in the 1930s by the well-admired architect Claude Albon Stiehl, had gone through many changes during its 80 years. Several additions and modifications to the home had caused the house to lose much of its original character. With this renovation, we respectfully brought back some of the original luster of the house, while making it more usable for the present owners.

The existing house was renovated in its entirety and a large open-air family room wing equipped with BBQ area was added. The major portions of renovation work included enlarging the kitchen and making it a centerpiece for the interior living and dining room as well as the outdoor family room. The dark, low-ceiling dining room was also completely redone with new large stacking doors opening up to the gracious back yard.
