This 3 bedroom, 2 bath, gym, and 2-car garage extended family home is being designed and constructed by Gabor Built Inc. in the back of a existing home in Kailua using the Ytong Casco building system.

European Building Technology Comes to Hawaii

We paid a visit to the Kailua Project Home site where Gabor Built Inc. is introducing the Ytong Casco building system, the first of its kind in Hawaii. Ytong Casco is a building system thats been used in Europe for decades and is comprised of steel reinforced yet light weight panels that can withstand the toughest conditions such as hurricanes, fires, and earthquakes. It is also rodent, termite, water, mildew, shatter, and bulletproof.

This cement-like product insulates and cools the home naturally due to its porous properties and can significantly cut electric costs. In fact, this material is so light that it actually floats on water (see picture above.) It is also highly sustainable due to the fact that there is a low energy demand during manufacturing, minimized waste on-site, zero maintenance for the life of the building, and full recyclability.

Unlike the conventional wood and steel frame build, installation of these panels are simple and fast. For this particular project, it took just 3 days for the walls to come up. These floor to ceiling panels are pre fabricated and manufactured to precise dimensions for commercial, industrial or residential use.
